Teak. Teak trees are trees that can be found in various locations at the uncommon tree icon. Level 30 Woodcutting is required to chop down this tree. On 20 March 2012, the teak trees were graphically updated in a hidden update.
Refined Teak planks are an intermediate material made from teak planks at the sawmill in Fort Forinthry. They are used in Construction to make teak frames.
If you are not ticking the wc, you should use ape atoll (via Arc tele spell or portal) and tele back to poh so the butler makes the planks. If you’re going to tick the wc (1.5t or 2t), you should use fossil island with a mounted dig site pendant in your poh.
Teak planks are made by taking teak logs to the sawmill north-east of Varrock, or the Woodcutting Guild, and asking the sawmill operator to convert the logs into planks, at the cost of 500 coins per teak plank.
Making teak planks at the Sawmill is a decent way to make money. Each plank requires one teak log and 500 coins. The fastest way to get to the Sawmill is through the Lumberyard teleport, but you won't be making any profit that way.
To make planks with maximum efficiency, deploy a portable sawmill near a bank or bank chest (for example, near the bank chest in Castle Wars), make a preset with 28 teak logs, and load it. Then click the sawmill and choose to make planks.
Teak planks are used in the Construction skill to make moderately high level furniture. Teak planks can be used for Construction training. Pieces of furniture between level 35 and 65 often require teak planks to be built. Teak often provides the cheapest Construction experience.
