5 Νοε 2009 · I recently got interested in odd time signatures, I wonder why? Does anyone have list of Rush songs and the time signatures they are in? For example (I'm just making this up) Freewill: 7/8, 4/4, 7/8. etc.

IIRC Circumstances has the most time signature changes of any Rush song. Looks like the transcriptions I found online can't even seem to agree on them. One of them shows the intro going from 4/4 to 3/4 to 2/4 to 7/8 to 4/4 to 5/4 to 3/4 to 5/4 in ten measures.
The song is mostly in 6/8 which, being the same as 3/4 and 12/8, is the second most common time signature and far from being an odd one. But the verses accent like 123 123 1234 12 which gives it a more suspenseful and complicated feel.

10 Μαρ 2011 · The thing about time signatures is that, when you're covering something and it starts getting like Driven, it's best to just say, "its in whatever time signature makes sense to me." As long you've got the rhythm worked out, and the pattern in your head actually matches the song, it works.
