This is a list of military aircraft currently in service with the Russian Air Force as of 2024. It belongs under larger Russian Aerospace Forces branch, established on 1 August 2015 with merging of the Russian Air Force and the Russian Aerospace Defence Forces .
This paper performs a comparative assessment of Russian technology employed in contemporary fighter aircraft and associated systems and weapons. Models of future air combat are defined and discussed. All categories of basic systems technology are then consecutively compared against their US or other Western equivalents.
