Sand a 2” taper from the inside edge outward all around the lauan on the fiberglass skin. Abrade the Filon surface another 4” to 5” beyond the taper with 120 grit sandpaper to eliminate gloss and assure good adhesion of repair materials. Use coarse, 60 or 80 grit sandpaper to sand away the fiberglass skin.
