Worksheet 1 What is the Sacrament of Confirmation? 10 mins approx. Aim: to explain that the Sacrament of Confirmation is the next important step in their journey to becoming full members of the Church. 1. Set the scene by talking about the Sacraments they have made so far. This will put the children at ease and make them feel comfortable to talk.
Confirmation impresses the candidate with a special character. Through this sacrament, the candidates are enriched by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, are bound more perfectly to the Church, and are strengthened in faith.

Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation and is therefore a beginning and not an end to religious education. It is expected that parents continue to enroll their children in religious education classes after they have been confirmed.
