27 Μαρ 2024 · The Coordinated Rural Opportunities Plan (CROP) is funded by the Department of Conservation’s Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) Program. CROP is a joint effort between the Sacramento Area Council of Governments and Valley Vision.
The 2021 Sacramento Region Food System Action Plan (Regional Action Plan) identifies prevailing challenges, opportunities, best practices, priorities, and recommendations to advance the region’s food system for the communities of El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo Counties.
Our work centers on growing a viable food and agriculture economy; ensuring more purchasing of locally-grown foods by institutions and others; increasing access to healthy foods in underserved communities; improving environmental sustainability; and promoting agricultural innovation.
3 Ιουλ 2024 · The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) is proud to announce the launch of the Coordinated Rural Opportunities Plan (CROP), a regional strategy aimed at strengthening rural economies and preserving the natural assets (such as water) vital to the six-county Sacramento region.
Sponsored by Yolo County Farm Bureau and 4-H, this event educated the young children on the local agriculture industry. More than 300 volunteers make it happen, which includes student hosts, 4-H volunteers, parents, and leaders.
