Center for Land Based Learning (Sacramento Valley) Beginning Farmer Training. A 7 month intensive training program that combines lectures, hands-on farm experience, and farm visits. Topics include crop production, business planning, marketing, and development of personal business plans. Program starts in February and ends in September. Cost $5,000.
CSU Fresno offers undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs on agriculture business and education. Several classes emphasize agricultural sustainability and the University Farm Laboratory serves as a research farm for students.
Since its launch in 1999, ARI has transformed agricultural research at the CSU with more than $160 million in grant funding and nearly 950 projects. In FY 2018-19, 132 active projects were being conducted by ARI faculty and students.
