Light boxes are a puzzle players will occasionally need to solve for a master Treasure Trail. Light boxes contain a 5x5 grid of lights and 8 switches to turn them on and off. The goal of the puzzle is to light all the lights.
There are six levels of clue scroll: Beginner, Easy, Medium, Hard, Elite, and Master. An easy clue scroll is a low difficulty Treasure Trail , with a low reward yield. A medium clue scroll is a medium difficulty Treasure Trail with a more substantial reward yield.
Master Clues. If solving a master clue, when you dig at the dig spot, you will be attacked by a Brassican Mage in a single-combat area, or three Ancient Wizards if your clue leads you to a multi-combat area. In the fight against the Brassican Mage, his attacks are not affected by protection prayers; however, ranged armour seems to help.
One strategy is to concentrate on one light at a time and flip every switch, taking note on a piece of paper of which switches control that light. Repeat this for all lights until finding one which is only controlled by one switch.
This is a guide on how to solve master Treasure Trails. Master Treasure Trails involve 6 to 8 steps (decreased to 5 to 7 with a Totem of Treasure active). These treasure trails involve the following types of clue in the following frequencies: Anagrams - 25/100. Compass clue (Eastern Lands only) - 10/100. Emotes - 25/100. Scans - 20/100.
Master tier clues If you consider yourself to be a champion of clue scrolls in Old School, the master tier is for you. You can get your hands on this elusive clue scroll in one of two ways: as a reward from other clue scrolls or by handing one of each tier clue scroll over to Watson found on Zeah.
A clue scroll (master) is the highest tier clue scroll in the Treasure Trails Distraction and Diversion, in which a player follows a series of clues leading towards buried treasure. They are obtained by opening a sealed clue scroll (master). Master clue trails are between 6 to 8 clues long (5 to 7 with the Totem of Treasure). [1]
