Saima Wazed (Bengali: সায়মা ওয়াজেদ; born 9 December 1972), [1] also known as Putul (Bengali: পুতুল), is the daughter of Bangladesh's former prime minister, Sheikh Hasina. [2] She is serving as the South East Asian regional director for the World Health Organization since November 1, 2023. [3]
Saima Wazed married Khandakar Masrur Hossain Mitu, the son of Bangladeshi politician and former Local Government and Rural Development and Cooperative minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain. Together the couple has four children. It is rumored they got divorced but it is not officially declared yet.
