21 Μαΐ 2019 · Salt Lick Point offers some of the very best views in the metro-east. Climb this rugged trail to see both great overlooks and beautiful wildflowers.
5 ημέρες πριν · Salt Lick Trail Short Loop. This trail begins at the parking lot off Limestone Lane, where a picnic area with a pavilion is available. It leads to Salt Lick Point Land and Water Reserve, winding through a forest with scenic overlooks, stunning farmland views, and Moredock Lake below.
The Salt Lick Trail features steep climbs, creek crossings, super flat doubletrack, amazing views on the bluffs, and a short road section. This trail gives you a little bit of everything and is a hidden gem too!
This 594-acre reserve in Monroe County has several gentle flat trails. Owned by the Village of Valmeyer. Named for one of the highest points in Monroe County, at more than 810-feet elevation, Salt Lick Point is named for the salt wells of the area.
Starting at kiosk in parking lot, the trail climbs up the bluffs to Salt Lick Point, where you can catch a scenic sunset, and views of the Mississippi River floodplain. The trail then drops back down to Limestone Lane and to the parking lot.
