Stokesley School aims to provide a safe working and learning environment for both students and staff and to this end the whole school supports a strict no smoking policy. The policy includes the banning of vaping, e-cigs or any other similar tobacco substitute.

As a school district takes steps to update an existing tobacco policy or pass a new policy, it is important to get buy-in and support from staff, students and the community.
K-12 SCHOOL MODEL POLICY. The use or promotion of commercial tobacco products1 on school grounds and at off‐campus school‐sponsored events is detrimental to the health and safety of students, staff, and visitors.
School tobacco-free policies that are clearly and consistently communicated, applied and enforced reduce tobacco use among students.12 While just making sure that no kids use tobacco at school is helpful, also prohibiting tobacco use by teachers, other school staff, and visitors sends a much more powerful and constructive tobacco-free message.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a 100% smoke-free and tobacco-free campus policy is the most comprehensive and provides the best health and safety benefits for employees and the public.
For the health and safety of our students, _____________(name of school district), is proud to be tobacco-free. At this time we would like to remind our home fans and visitors that the use of any tobacco products by students or adults during tonight’s game is strictly prohibited.
