The San Bernardino National Forest has eight designated Wildernesses: San Gorgonio, Cucamonga, San Jacinto, Santa Rosa, Bighorn Mountain, Cahuilla Mountain, South Fork San Jacinto, and part of the Sheep Mountain wilderness, area. Maps of these areas are available for purchase at ranger stations.

23 Σεπ 2015 · The San Bernadino Peak Trail out of Angelus Oaks is a very challenging hike, which can either be done as a day hike or an overnight trip. Free permits are required for day hiking and overnights in the San Gorgonio Wilderness. These permits can be accessed via Sgwa.org/permits.
Permit. A permit is required for both day and overnight hikes on the San Bernardino Peak trail. Permit applications are accepted up to 90 days in advance. Although quotas are strict for overnight campsites, walk-up permits for day hikes are almost always available for San Bernardino.
