The Assessor's Office Parcel Maps are used to determine the location and size of each Assessor Parcel. These are used in the assessment process by both the change in ownership and appraisal sections.
The function of the Mapping/GIS section is to create and continuously maintain Assessor's maps. When making changes the Assessor looks at all maps recorded in the county such as tract maps, condominium plans, and subdivisions as well as Parcel Boundary Change Requests submitted to our office.

The County Assessor determines property values. The Auditor-Controller applies the applicable tax rates to the assessed property values to produce the amounts owed and adds any special assessments due. The Tax Collector creates and distributes the Property Tax Bills, and collects taxes due.
