Under certain conditions disabled veterans and spouses of deceased veterans may be eligible for a disabled veterans' exemption. Depending on your assessed value, the disabled veterans' exemption may exempt up to $100,000 off of the assessed value of your home.
An honorably discharged veteran with a permanent and total service connected disability is exempt from Florida property taxes. See Florida Statute 196.081. To qualify, the veteran must be a permanent resident of Florida and receive the Homestead Exemption on the property in question.
