A few days ago over 80 orders showed up on my Amazon account - I first noticed them because of emails. They were items ranging from $100 to $500. There were also many gift card purchases: $1 gift cards - then gift cards were used on the orders ($1 - $4 in gift cards used on each order.)
A new and complicated scam starts with a call or text message about a suspicious charge on your Amazon account. But it’s not really Amazon. It’s a scammer with an elaborate story about fraud using your identity that ends with you draining your bank or retirement accounts.

You may receive notification of an order or delivery for an item you weren't expecting. If you received correspondence regarding an order you didn't place, it likely wasn't from Amazon. Visit Your Orders to review your order history or, to report a suspicious message, visit . Report a scam.
Despite being inundated with fake sellers and accounts, Amazon is surprisingly diligent in policing its marketplace: if it sees a spike in reports, it will remove a seller's privileges without hesitation. To combat this, fake sellers play the numbers game and run multiple accounts at a time.

20 Μαΐ 2022 · If you receive one of these texts out of the blue, this could signal that your Amazon account has been compromised. Log into your account directly from the Amazon website or via the app and change your password immediately. Also, check your order history to ensure no unauthorized purchases have been made.
