27 Αυγ 2020 · I know of the familiar aftermarket barrel manufacturers that produce better quality replacement prefit replacement barrels for Savage 110 series rifles. Just wondering what the consensus is on who makes the very best quality premium barrels currently?
11 Νοε 2012 · No proof, so you got me there. Just personal experience. I've found that factory barrels are hit and miss, and the Savage barrels I've shot tend to group between .75MOA and 1MOA with handloads (with an average of many 5 shot groups, not your best 3 shot group). Some are better, quite a few are worse.
21 Ιουν 2017 · So far they all 5 shoot very good, much better than a factory rifle. But the two ER Shaw barrels are both outstanding as you can see above. They say a barrel and best accuracy are seen after 200 or so shots...can't wait to see what these two riflesh will do then!
10 Φεβ 2021 · First, I purchased a proof research savage small shank prefit. Needless to say it was worth the money and from what I read other people are pretty happy with them too. I even got mine on sale which made it cheaper than purchasing a good steel barrel at a few of the recommended online prefit makers.
12 Δεκ 2013 · I tried one of the $200.00 E.R.Shaw barrel-swap kits for my model 16 Savage, going from a "magnum contour" .243 Winchester barrel to a 24 inch "sporter contour" barrel in 7mm-08 Remington. The kit included the new barrel, GO and NO-GO gauges for checking headspace, and an E.R Shaw barrel nut wrench.
10 Ιαν 2018 · I just got a new Shilen 6BR barrel for my Savage VLP. I have successfully replaced barrels before but I have a question, Before replacing a barrel and setting head space, I normally clean and de-grease the barrel threads and chamber, the receiver threads and the barrel nut threads.
