The best running in the downtown Springfield area is east of the CBD, around Missouri State University and the attractive Rountree neighborhood. We've mapped a route as a guideline for creating your own.
The Cohick Half Marathon runs with the marathon for the first 10 miles through downtown Springfield, local parks, by Mother's Brewery (cold beer is available), and on part of the Ozark Greenways Trail. Walkers and runners will enjoy this pretty course.
