31 Μαρ 2022 · Call it a conservative 190 horse power. Currently has stock stamped steel rockers, probably rated 1.5 and actually less. Overall, runs great. I'm at the 5000 mile mark on this fresh engine. Figuring its time to pull torques on the engine and while im at it, adjust rocker arms.
30 Ιαν 2008 · The procedure is to adjust the valves in the cylinder opposite the cylinder in the firing order. ie 4 cylinder 1-3-4-2. Opposite #1 is #4, #3 is #2, #4 is #1, #2 is #3. This works for all firing orders.
29 Αυγ 2013 · If you want to do it engine off there are several accurate ways. The easiest is to have a bar on the crank bolt. Slowly rotate the engine (plugs out makes it easier) until the exhaust valve starts to move, adjust the intake. Turn the engine (in normal direction) until the intake closes, adjust exhaust.
2 Ιαν 2011 · But my son & I were analyzing a better way to adjust our SBC valves with minimum number of rotations on the crank/cam. That was our goal - minimum turns of the crank. Since we have installed new heads/cam/lifters/roller-rockers/timing-gears, in our '79 350 4-bolt, we tried (the below) sequence on new (nonprimed) lifters.
29 Αυγ 2013 · Assuming there is valve lash then tighten the rocker arm adjustment nut until you cannot wiggle the rocker arm or rotate the push rod with your fingers. From that point tighten the rocker adjustment nut 1/2 to 3/4 turn.

22 Νοε 2013 · simple instructions for setting valve lash solid lifters sbc no cam specs. When the exhaust valve starts to open, you adjust the intake valve on that cylinder. After intake valve opens completely and is closing, adjust the exhaust valve on that cylinder.
