17 Φεβ 2020 · Depressive disorders are common, costly, have a strong effect on quality of life, and are associated with considerable morbidity and mortality. Effective treatments are available: antidepressant medication and talking therapies are included in most guidelines as first-line treatments.
Seventeen studies (n=18,437) examined the benefits of screening for depression, 149–165 including one that also screened for symptoms of anxiety, sleep problems, pain, or fatigue and enrolled patients endorsing any of these concerns ( Table 8 ).
