"The Madness of King Scar" was a deleted song from The Lion King, which was to be sung to Nala by Scar, to the same tune as Scar's main song, "Be Prepared". After a short spoken interruption, it would be followed by the also scrapped "Be Prepared" reprise.
The title of this song was inspired by the name of a 1991 play, The Madness of King George. This song and scene was cut due to its implications of sexual harassment, which was deemed unsuitable for a family film.

At one point during production, this song took place during the scene in which Scar gives his eulogy to the pride. However, it was ultimately scrapped due to a lively musical number being deemed inappropriate so shortly after the death of Mufasa .
