This guideline addresses the fire safety issues of schools, as indicated in the definitions. The aim of this guideline is to provide school managers and safety consultants with some basic principles indicating the process to improve the fire safety of schools, new and existing.

Our priority is to minimise the risk of life and to reduce injury by maintaining the physical fire safety of the school, by ensuring that staff, students and visitors do not add to the fire risk, and through safe evacuation of our building if a fire breaks out.
It is intended to make employees, including supervisors and managers, aware of the potential for violence in the workplace, to increase their abilities to recognize early warning signs of potentially violent situations, and to understand how to respond to actual or potential incidents.
