Present NYS P-12 Science Learning Standards to Board of Regents for final adoption. 2016-2017 School Year. Collaborate with relevant stakeholder groups to build awareness of the new NYS P-12 Science Learning Standards across the state. Develop and propose assessment frameworks.
The NGSS are a set of science education standards that aim to provide a framework for K-12 science education that is grounded in scientific and engineering practices and is focused on preparing students to be scientifically literate citizens (more detailed NGSS overview).
26 Σεπ 2019 · The Board of Regents approved new Pre K-12 Science Learning Standards in December 2016, which call for more hands-on learning. Instruction aligned to the P-12 NY State Science Standards begins in the 2019-2029 school year.
