This page provides an overview of the state standards for Science. The standards are a guide for the development of well-planned instructional practice at the local district level. These standards are mandatory to help shape the design of all components of a science program.

New York State P-12 Science Learning Standards *The performance expectations marked with an asterisk integrate traditional science content with engineering through a Practice or Disciplinary Core Idea.
Current NYS Science Learning Standards. Adopted in 1996 as the New York State Learning Standards for Mathematics, Science, and Technology . Expectations presented as standards, key ideas, and performance indicators, which are benchmarked at elementary, intermediate, and commencement levels.
Present NYS P-12 Science Learning Standards to Board of Regents for final adoption. 2016-2017 School Year. Collaborate with relevant stakeholder groups to build awareness of the new NYS P-12 Science Learning Standards across the state. Develop and propose assessment frameworks.
10 Ιαν 2011 · The New York State Board of Regents adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Mathematics and for English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects, with the understanding that New York State may add additional expectations to the Common Core.
