- A Little History
Searchlight, Nevada, is an old mining camp located about an hour south of Las Vegas. It was founded when gold was discovered in 1897. As word spread, the camp and surrounding area was flooded with miners. Two years later a 16-mile narrow gauge railroad from the mines was established.
This Museum is a satellite of the Clark County Museum. Museum hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday, and 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays. The museum exhibit is designed as a self guided tour. Searchlight Historic Museum, Mining Town Located in Clark County, Southern Nevada.
