Ordered PCBs with production note that bottom had no solder mask, they arrived with masking on bottom layer, when I complained they tried to scam me into paying more money claiming that immersion gold without mask would cost more, isnt the finish applied irrespective of the fact that there is solder masking or not? no replies now and I cant use ...

My design is a Hat for Raspberry Pis, and I’ve ben selling it in modest quantities for a few years now. It’s a fairly straighforward design, with 30-40 almost entirely SMD parts - 0603 resistors, SOT-23s, etc.
