It has a single folded sheet with your message that you can seal using stickers or tabs. Many types of direct mailers exist, including postcards, booklets, catalogs, etc.
In collaboration with the mailing industry, the Postal Service engaged in a mailpiece design study to revise Folded Self-Mailer (FSM) standards for automation letter-size formats.
Self-mailers are most simply defined as a piece of mail without an envelope. Self-mailers can be sent flat on a thick paper stock or they can be folded into two or more panels. Postcards, bi-folds, tri-folds, and booklets that are sealed before entering the mail stream are examples of a self-contained mailing format.
Self Mailers are direct mail pieces that do not require an envelope as their name implies. The address information and postage are printed directly on the Self-Mailer, eliminating the need for an envelope. In contrast to an envelope brochure mailer, a Self mailer brochure is usually a multi-paneled foldable piece.
