13 Μαΐ 2001 · Verse 13, “I write these things to you, who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.” God intends His children to have a sure and certain assurance of their salvation.
When we trust in Jesus Christ, our eternal security in Christ becomes a spiritual reality whether we understand it or believe it. Ones belief in security in Christ does not make it true or false. If we have trusted in the person and work of Christ for personal salvation, security is a fact.

26 Μαΐ 2006 · God has made salvation simple so that people who are lost can be saved. He made it simple so that people who are guilty can know they are forgiven. And I want you to see this.

But like most things in the Christian life, assurance is something that is cultivated and grows stronger over time.
5 Αυγ 1999 · Acts 1:3. ASSURANCE CANNOT NEGLECT THE PAINFUL WORK OF SELF-EXAMINATION. "Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you - unless indeed you fail the test?" 2 Corinthians 13:5. ASSURANCE WILL DIMINISH IN THE PRESENCE OF CONCEALED SIN.
