13 Απρ 2011 · SFTP usually uses port 22 but can be configured to run on nearly any port. Port 22 is generally used for connection via SSH. SFTP is just one of protocols which can be run over SSH (others include virtual terminal).
CompTIA's Network+ CertMaster Learn content agrees with Wikipedia that some use port TCP port 22 for SFTP or FTP over SSH (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSH_File_Transfer_Protocol). But IANA's RFC6335 states differently:
9 Απρ 2014 · Nothing will happen if the port you served is not blocked or preserved. Those ports are called "Well known ports" so that you can write a program like FileZilla where the standard-port for connections is 21 or 22 but you can change it to any belief.
SFTP Port Number. SFTP port number is the SSH port 22 (follow the link to see how it got that number). It is basically just an SSH server. Only once the user has logged in to the server using SSH can the SFTP protocol be initiated. There is no separate SFTP port exposed on servers. No need to configure another hole into firewalls.
