23 Φεβ 2013 · I've got 2 shilen barrels right now both in a 6mm chambering. I couldn't be happier with the one- but the second was pretty disappointing. It took a lot of work to find a load that it would shoot good and it collected copper like no other barrel I've ever seen.
25 Απρ 2020 · The price of Match Grade stainless steel barrels includes hand lapping to a beautifully smooth surface. Chrome-moly can be lapped to a similar finish at an additional charge. Both are available in all calibers, twists and contours.
9 Μαΐ 2021 · I have friends that have built & owned CF guns & ML's & SML's with Mcgowen & Shilen barrels on them. But I'm not familiar with Criterian barrels. May I suggest that you look into the value, pros/cons of the difference between " Cut rifle barrels " & " Button rifle barrels " before deciding.
22 Απρ 2017 · I've heard that Shilen .920" barrels have a tighter chamber than their sporter contour barrels, but I'm not certain about that. I also have a KIDD 20" Taper barrel that is superbly accurate (in an all-KIDD build) as are my other KIDD barrels.
12 Ιαν 2022 · Shillen is about the best button rifled barrel out there. I have them on most of my Savage actions and a Bighorn. They shoot as well as some of the big name cut rifled barrels. For rebarreling a Savage or a Bighorn with a Shillen Barrel check out Northland Shooter Supply they have great prices.
What size barrel will serve you best? The information below will give you an idea of the size and weight of every Shilen barrel contour. Dimension "C" is the barrel diameter at dimension "F".
Take a look at Benchmark, McGowan, and Lothar Walther if you want a quality button rifled barrel at a fair price. If money is not an issue then get a Bartlein, Rock, Krieger, Obermeyer, Broughton or Brux.
