24 Νοε 2013 · #1. I've noticed on here a lack of people using/discussing Shilen barrels; is there something that I don't know? Shilen seems to have a great reputation among the bench rest crowd, but their absence from this forum is kind of odd. Do they offer poor customer service or... ?
23 Φεβ 2013 · I've got 2 shilen barrels right now both in a 6mm chambering. I couldn't be happier with the one- but the second was pretty disappointing. It took a lot of work to find a load that it would shoot good and it collected copper like no other barrel I've ever seen.
12 Ιαν 2022 · Shillen is about the best button rifled barrel out there. I have them on most of my Savage actions and a Bighorn. They shoot as well as some of the big name cut rifled barrels. For rebarreling a Savage or a Bighorn with a Shillen Barrel check out Northland Shooter Supply they have great prices.
25 Απρ 2020 · Two of the Stainless hvy barrels shoot fantastic and the other and the chrome moly barrel are on par with factory barrels. The CM barrel is actually chambered in 222 so that was a real disappointment.
9 Μαΐ 2021 · I have friends that have built & owned CF guns & ML's & SML's with Mcgowen & Shilen barrels on them. But I'm not familiar with Criterian barrels. May I suggest that you look into the value, pros/cons of the difference between " Cut rifle barrels " & " Button rifle barrels " before deciding.
22 Απρ 2017 · I've heard that Shilen .920" barrels have a tighter chamber than their sporter contour barrels, but I'm not certain about that. I also have a KIDD 20" Taper barrel that is superbly accurate (in an all-KIDD build) as are my other KIDD barrels.
