  1. 31 Ιαν 2019 · Indeed, it seems likely that lower limit screw or cable tension adjustment could make a difference here. Even if it is currently set correctly "by the book", it might make sense to make it a bit looser to reduce the force needed.

  2. I just purchased a bike that has a Shimano revoshift shifter. I am confused because the Left shifter, which would normally show three settings, has a range of L-H, with ten marks in between. Not sure how I'm supposed to interpret it.

  3. After completing all adjustment, move the shift lever to check the gear shifting performance. (This also applies if gear shifting becomes difficult during use.)

  4. 28 Οκτ 2023 · Adjusting Shimano Revoshift is super simple. Just turn the top adjustment screw clockwise to tighten the cable, and try the gear shifting. If it doesn’t get any better, try to turn the top adjustment screw counterclockwise and try it again. Why does my bike with Shimano Revoshift shift hard?

  5. Look for an adjustment knob either at the shifter or the derailleur. Go no more than 1/4 turn at a time. Cables settle a bit from new and you may have a bit of slack. If it won’t go into and stay in 7th with you pushing the derailleur by hand, you’ll need to adjust the “L” limit screw at the derailleur. Probably a Phillips head.

  6. First, lube the cable, really well. If still not good, open up the shifter and lightly grease anything that moves. if still not working, make sure the derailleur is adjusted so that it isn't hitting the cogs as it move up through the gears.

  7. 22 Ιουλ 2023 · As u/SecretRead6529 said, it's very easy for a spring clip or other small part to fly out when it's first taken apart. I'd recommend looking for a part diagram and/or a video to a) confirm you even have all the pieces, and b) see how exactly it goes back together. 187K subscribers in the bikewrench community.
