Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum. This enjoyable museum showcases Savannah’s long role as a port city with nine galleries of ship models, paintings, and maritime antiques.
The museum features nine galleries filled with ship models, maritime paintings, and artifacts that reflect Savannah's rich maritime heritage. Among the models on display are the SS Savannah, a ship owned by William Scarbrough, and the RMS Titanic.
If you're into boats or naval history, this little museum will hold a lot of interest. Located in an old Savannah mansion, there are several floors of maritime paintings, antiques, artifacts and, most impressive, a large collection of ships painstakingly re-created in miniature (by 'miniature,' we mean several feet long).
