The Department of Labor and Employment is once again pleased to present to you the 2022 Edition of the Handbook on Workers’ Statutory Monetary Benefits covering updates on labor standards and developments on labor rules and regulations.
This programme outlines the commitment of government to significantly reduce the prevalence of Silicosis by 2015 and to totally eliminate Silicosis in workplaces by 2030 in line with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Global Programme for the Elimination of Silicosis.

15 Νοε 2023 · Under this law, all workers in the specified occupations and those who are reasonably expected to be exposed to airborne silica dust as part of their work must complete 10830NAT – Course in Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention before 1 October 2023.

13 Φεβ 2024 · Under the OSHA Respirable Crystalline Silica Rule, employers are responsible for ensuring workers are protected from silica. This includes controlling dust levels below the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 µg/m 3 (micrograms of silica per cubic meter of air) as an 8-hour time weighted average.
15 Νοε 2023 · From 15 November 2023, the Managing the Risks of Airborne Crystalline Silica (Silica Dust) in the Workplace Code of Practice comes into effect. This Code supports WorkSafe ACT’s commitment to tackle exposure to silica dust and provides duty holders and workers with all they need to know to comply.
