I’m not sure how dude from the original post configured rpi pins, but if you want stereo sound, you need to set both PWM0 and PWM1 with dtoverlay option for using as audio outputs. PWM0 is on GPIO12 and GPIO18, and PWM1 is on GPIO13 and GPIO19, so you have to choose according to the display pinout.
