I've installed the Sims 3 since (through EA), and the launcher opens, but when I click the play button, it exits out of the launcher and opens "The Sims 3" page in the EA app. Then, when I hit "play," it opens the launcher. Repeat cycle. Any ideas on what may be causing this and how I can fix this? 26 people had this problem.

All my other games launch properly, however, my Sims 3 Just will not launch. I've tried repairing and uninstalling the game, still to no avail. I've tried to launch the game via Origin and through Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > Sims 3 > Game > Bin. These are my system specs:
When launcher for Sims 3 opens it is black with white line along task bar area (black screen of death). It doesn't launch, there was an error code about service initiation failed. I had everything fixed today, was able to play for three hrs., apps were launching, several successful saves.
The quick way to check if this is happening is to disable custom content in the launcher and try the game again. Exit the Sims 3 launcher completely. Restart it, then click on Installed Content. Check the box beside Run without custom content. You’ll see a pop-up warning, click on OK to continue.
19 Οκτ 2024 · So I try to launch the sims 3 in the ea app, it opens the sims 3 launcher, I press play and it brings me back to the ea app and the game doesn't start. These are the things I have tried: Reinstalling the game. Repairing the game. Moving the ea folder to a different location. Downloading the direct X thing. Downloading the Alder Lake patch.
This looks/sounds like an Origin handoff to the Launcher issue more than something wrong with the game installation. Or it could be a Windows component problem such as one with .NET or DirectX. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling Origin and bringing the issue to the attention of the folks at Answers.HQ as previously suggested ?
– Check Task Manager: Make sure the Game, Sims 3 Launcher or anything EA related is not running. – Check the Install Path: Open the game with the game -not- the launcher, if possible. EA App: (C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3W.exe)
