The Skinners' School (formally The Skinners' Company's Middle School for Boys and commonly known as Skinners'), is a British Grammar School with academy status for boys located in the town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.
Although only 135 years old, Skinners’ is connected to the distinguished London Livery Company of the same name, which goes back to the fourteenth century. Nowadays, members of the Company pursue all sorts of professions but in the middle ages The Skinners Company regulated London’s fur trade.
The Skinners' School was opened in Tunbridge Wells in 1887. The current roll is 1124, with 319 in the Sixth Form. Skinners' aims to achieve academic excellence for all its pupils, whilst at the same time developing their independence as learners.
The Skinners' School is a selective academy. It has about 1,120 boys aged between 11 and 18. In November 2021 the school was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
