Find wiring diagrams for a variety of Skutt products including KilnMaster, KilnSitter, GlassMaster, and Scarab kilns
These are the wiring diagrams for some of Skutts oldest KilnSitter controlled kilns. These were manufactured between the years of 1960 and 1979. Models include: 235, 231, 231-18, 181, 145, 183, 183-27, 185 and 185-27.
If your kiln was manufactured after October 1st, 2018, you will also want to download the 2018 KilnSitter Addendum below which contains amended wiring diagrams. In 1980 Skutt began naming kilns by the number of bricks around and how deep it was expressed in inches (i.e. 1027).
Electrical Requirements & Wiring Diagram The chart below shows the recommended electrical specifi cation for the Hot Start Kiln. If you are uncertain about your existing power, have it checked by an electrician.
Set Up Preparation Certain kiln models may have slightly different set-up instructions. Special set-up instructions for PK Kilns and the KM-1 Wall Mount Controller are located in the Appendices section. Save packing material until test fire is complete. The kiln comes almost completely assembled.
