1 Δεκ 2023 · The presence of REM, sleep cycles, and consecutive N2 were found to contribute the most to a hypnogram evaluation as healthy. On the other hand, a high transition index, presence of (long) W, awakenings, and presence of N1 were the strongest contributors to an evaluation as disordered .
8 Αυγ 2008 · To characterize nocturnal event histories in the sleep hypnogram, two distinct methods were employed: multistate survival analysis and log-linear models.
Hypnogram depicting normal sleep in a healthy young adult. Normal nocturnal sleep consists of 4e6 sleep cycles, each lasting around 90 min, during which nonrapid eye movement (REM) and...
17 Σεπ 2024 · In this paper, we propose analysing sleep hypnograms using a seven-state continuous-time Markov model (CTMM). This proposed model leverages the CTMM to depict the time-varying sleep-state transitions, and probes three types of insomnia by distinguishing three types of wake states.
This analysis indicates that as SDB severity increases, waking up from Stage 1 or 2 and going from sleep to a lighter sleep (Stage 2 to Stage 1) happen at increasingly quicker rates while the rates of getting deep sleep and REM from the most common Stage 2 decrease.
2 Νοε 2023 · The hypnogram shows clustering of frequent obstructive apneas and hypopneas in the supine position. The apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) was 62.3/h in the supine position with oxygen desaturations (O 2 saturation less than 90% for 2.1% of the total sleep time); AHI was 2.4/h in the lateral positions.
Disruptions or irregularities to the normal sleep cycle or sleep stage transitions can be detected; for example a hypnogram can show that in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) the stability of transition between REM and NREM stages is disrupted.
