Fishing . Sleepy Creek Lake is the best place to cast a line at Sleepy Creek WMA. This 205-acre lake has largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie and northern pike. The lake has three access sites with parking and restrooms. Two have fishing piers.
This area is perfect for camping and canoeing, with boat ramps available for kayaks and small electric-powered boats. Visitors have noted that the sites are fairly private, surrounded by woods, and many have access to the clear lake, making it ideal for fishing and paddling.
We stopped at a boat launch at the northern end and got some wonderful views of the lake and trees, then we found a couple of other roads that led through some campgrounds and to the lake for more views.

Sleepy Creek Lake provides a boat launch and fishing. Downed wood can be cut for campfire use. Pets are permitted but must be kept on a leash at all times. These campsites are open year-round.
