Slic3r takes 3D models (STL, OBJ, AMF) and converts them into G-code instructions for 3D printers. It's compatible with any modern printer based on the RepRap toolchain, including all those based on the Marlin, Sprinter and Repetier firmware. It also works with Mach3, LinuxCNC and Machinekit controllers.
We want to keep 3D printing open and free. Compatible: it supports all the known G-code dialects (Marlin, Repetier, Mach3, LinuxCNC, Machinekit, Smoothie, Makerware, Sailfish). Advanced: many configuration options allow for fine-tuning and full control.
Configuration Wizard. Slic3r has two features to aid newcomers: the configuration wizard, and simple mode. Sometimes it is nice to have a helping hand when starting out with new software. The configuration wizard asks a series of questions and creates a configuration for Slic3r to start with.

Slic3r can be downloaded directly from: https://slic3r.org/download or https://github.com/slic3r/Slic3r/releases. Pre-compiled packages are available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Windows users can choose between 32 and 64 bit versions to match their system.
