The program is intended to replace half of workers’ wages for up to 26 weeks. State law sets the maximum benefit at $450 per week. Due to the cap, workers who make more than $46,000 per year—about 40 percent of UI recipients—get payments that are less than half their usual earnings.
You are eligible for an automatic 13-week extension of unemployment benefits under the PEUC program if: You were fully or partially unemployed after March 29, 2020. Your benefit year started June 2, 2019 or later.
