20 Νοε 2006 · That might not neccessarily be the problem. I put the same amount of clothing in my machine in summer and in winter. My summer clothes smell nice but in winter I get smelly clothes, mainly the jumpers and jeans. As another poster said, they smell nice when they come out of the machine but when dry they stink :mad:
24 Σεπ 2013 · I live in a small apartment with no outdoor drying so I have to dry my clothes indoors. I dry in a dryer but that doens't do them completely so I put them on a rack inside after. Thing is tho like I said not all the clothes get this odour only the t shirts. everything else smells fine.
I have a washer that is just over a year old, working fine, but lately I have noticed that the clothes don't smell fresh after washing and I'm not sure why. I'm not sure how long it's been like this - it's only after my M.I.L washed something for me in her machine last week that I noticed it smelt lovely that I started sniffing my own washing!
22 Ιουν 2012 · Clothes washed at 60 deg come out fine ... My husband has today pulled the washing machine out and cleaned the filter again (it wasnt clogged up with debris but was full of stagnant water) and checked all the back hoses etc. All were fine. The pump seems to be working okay as my clothes are not excessively wet after spinning.
20 Σεπ 2005 · Clothes that come out of my tumble drier smell musty, despite using lovely smelling washing powder etc. I don't mind that the clothes don't smell of perfume, I just want them to stop smelling horrible. I love the smell of washing that's been line dried, but I work full time and the weather doesn't always suit my days off.
24 Αυγ 2021 · I am having an issue with smelly clothes, I either dry them on the washing line or over the airer but they smell musty and I think it could be my washer.

28 Ιουλ 2006 · 1. Place the t-shirts in a bucket of diluted Nappysan, or any product for soaking nappies, and leave overnight before washing. 2. Soak the t-shirts overnight in a bowl full of warm warm with a mugful of white vinegar. Transfer to washing machine. Add more white vingar to the compartment for fabric softner. Wash on 40 degree cycle.
5 Νοε 2005 · Ok i finally used up all the old fabric conditioner and spent the last 3 weeks using vinegar/bicarb solution with a little added water in the final rinse.
24 Αυγ 2024 · If the smell goes away when the w/m isn't being used, and the clothes smell fresh enough, I wouldn't be concerned. Certainly worth either pulling the machine out to confirm the floor under it is dry, or shine a torch under there if enough gap, or push kitchen paper or newspaper under it to test.
