8 Μαΐ 2016 · If you have to make a choice though and aren't planning an upgrade path (i.e changing just CPU/Memory) then either the FM2+ or AM3+ will do you well. Depending on you're choice is where the limit will come, the FM2+ will allow you the use of the APU which are really good bang for the buck.
The main difference between FM2 vs AM3+ sockets is their frequencies. FM2 has a maximum frequency of up to 4100 MHz, whereas AM3+ frequency is up to 200 MHz System clock and HyperTransport speed up to 3.2 GHz.
14 Μαρ 2014 · The AM3+ socket handles faster processors than the FM2/FM2+ socket. But for your uses, go for which ever you get the best price on. The APUs that fit the FM2+ socket have an on-die GPU.

30 Νοε 2016 · fm2 and am3 are the socket types of the CPU, not just the motherboard models, so they'll only work if you have a cpu and motherboard with the same socket. You can put a FM2 processor into a FM2+ board, but i dont think there's any "good" fm2 cpu's. It doesn't work the other way around though.
20 Φεβ 2023 · The highest frequency that an FM2 can reach is 4100 MHz, whereas the highest frequency that an AM3+ can reach is 200 MHz on the System clock and 3.2 GHz on the HyperTransport. As a result, AM3+ is the superior socket in terms of speed.
