   As Steve55 states Castrol Magnatec 10/40 is the oil of choice for many F and TF owners especially for the VVC engines. Many others will say any 10/40 semi synthetic will do but the fact remains that the ECU is programmed to the viscosity of the Castrol oil other oils may have different viscosities.

According to what I have read the ECU is calibrated to a specific oil viscosity, and not oils with what appears to have the same viscosity rating conform to the requirements.

   26 Δεκ 2012 · As long as the oil meets the standards laid down by MGR initially, then it is fine for the normal 12 month interval. All 10w/40 semi synthetic oil sold today will meet or exceed those standards (including the cheap stuff)

   I agree, what I hear from insiders at other oil companies the top oil is Mobil1 and the top fuel is Shell Vpower. That said, a lot of motorsport people don't rate Mobil1 claiming it is not good enough for the additional stresses under racing conditions.
