This is a long and arduous trail that leads into the canyon from the North Rim and ends at the breathtaking Ribbon Falls. It is important to bring plenty of water and sun protection as most of the route is exposed. There are endless canyon views along the way to stop and rest.
17 Ιαν 2024 · The South Kaibab and Bright Angel Trails are two of the Grand Canyon’s classic hiking trails. You can combine these two trails together to create one massive day hike or a two-day backpacking trip. It is a long, challenging hike but it makes for some incredible memories.
Hiking Map: North Kaibab, South Kaibab, and Bright Angel Trails. North Kaibab Trailhead: elevation 8,241 feet (2,512 m)
The North Kaibab trailhead is located 41 miles south of Jacob Lake on Highway 67 (1.5 miles north of Grand Canyon Lodge). A small parking area offers limited parking.

The National Geographic map of the Grand Canyon is great for rim-to-rim hikers. My favorite feature is the distances between trail landmarks which you can see in the red numbers above. I use them as mini-milestones to break the route up mentally. The rim-to-rim hike is easy to navigate.
