Do you have to take your bicycle or scooter on AVE (high-speed), Larga Distancia (long distance), Avant (mid-distance high-speed) or Trenhotel trains? Here's what you have to do.
Renfe operate several fast trains (AVE, Alivia, Intercity) which do not allow bikes to be wheeled onboard. These trains generally operate between cities and are common all over Spain, travelling often in excess of 200km/h.

7 Νοε 2017 · You should be able to take your bikes on the train on most rail routes using the Regional or Media-Distancia trains, and making sure that you book your train seats ahead of time and add a notification that you will be bringing a bicycle.
You need those also in regional trains without bike carriage unless the rules have changed. Edit: seems they allow up to 3 unboxed bikes per regional train now, but you have to buy a bike ticket.
