First time. Students read sounds rapidly as they would read phonogram in a word. Teacher pulls card from AK to front of deck (over top) to facilitate previewing students response. 15-25 cards Second time. Teacher uses same cards but asks for cues or knowledge questions, if applicable; eg. /oi/
