11 Φεβ 2022 · In my opinion the Spatial M3 had a few fairly predictable issues when I heard them. The one that bothered me the most was the off-axis response; I felt like the directivity was too uneven and too narrow and I heard some really significant changes in timbre as I moved away from a small sweet spot.
13 Δεκ 2021 · Spatial X5 speakers Just got mine, with upgraded crossovers, a couple of weeks ago. I now have about 250 hours on them - mostly driven by the Voyager Gan 350 wpc class D amp and most recently by Don Sachs 65 wpc tube amp.
10 Ιουλ 2021 · In early 2020, I came across a few speaker forums on AudiogoN and open baffle design (OBD) speakers were mentioned. I had never heard or seen a pair of OBD speakers like Spatial Audio. I had only seen Martin Logan and Magnepan OBD. The forums mentioned Spatial Audio and Pure Audio Project (PAP).
13 Δεκ 2021 · One thing for sure, long break in time is a spatial Audio familial trait. My X5s finally developed percussive bass at north of 350 hours. They have about 400 hours on them and are still evolving.
4 Δεκ 2020 · I’ve heard Spatials and liked them but doubt they measure well CEA style due to the problems measuring big dipoles, and because to my ears they have an idiosyncratic response even for dipoles. Davone Solo speakers, DIY open baffle speakers, MiniDSP amps and EQ.
10 Απρ 2021 · Switching to a Controlled Directivity speaker design like the X5 or X3 helps to reduce the room sound level and therefore minimize these sonic problems. This is especially helpful in live rooms with longer decay times.
