   Spectrum has a virtual monopoly, the only other option is the phone company, 7mb dsl for $20 or $30/month. Lately Spectrum is offering $49.99/mo for one year for "up to" 200mb. Speculation is that it goes up to $70-75 after a year. I have been getting consistent 70Mbps down/6Mbps up.

   I found a website that is legit. From government for low income households. It's called emergency broadband. Not hard to qualify. Pays $ 50.00 per month towards internet expense. TOTALLY WORTH IT. I now pay 25 bucks instead of 75 w spectrum.

   You should get an offer that much better than the full price rates. For reference, I was paying $45/month for my first year of 200Mpbs internet only. When my year was about to be up and my bill was going to something like $74, I called and they offered to upgrade my speed to 400Mbps and discount the rate down to $55/month (full price of $90).

   I went from $29.99 to $49.99 the first 5 years and then to $59.99. I don't have cable and just need internet to connect 4 phones and 2 laptops so even at $69.99 I thought it was fair. But $115+ is insane.
