Blinded (...) You can blind or deafen a foe. Choose one creature that you can see within range to make a Constitution saving throw. If it fails, the target is either blinded or deafened (your choice) for the duration. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, the spell ends.

Alter self is a 2nd level spell that can temporarily give you your sight back for an hour, and warlocks and moon druids can do it at will at 15th & 14th level. The 7th level spell regenerate can cure blindness, but isn't the point of a blind character actually being blind in some way? Asking your DM to give you blindsense.
